Lomi Lomi Massage
A journey through the senses
Lomi Lomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage used to restore energy and deeply relax the body. It combines multiple techniques, the use of coconut oil and sometimes elements of prayer, breathing and dance. Also known as the loving hands massage, it features long, flowing strokes that move rhythmically across the entire body, like ocean waves.
This massage is based on the belief that memories are stored not only in the brain but also within every cell of the body. As a ritualistic experience, the ambience plays a crucial role—music, light, colours and scents, all contribute to creating the right atmosphere to enhance the treatment. The hypnotic motion and the multisensorial experience guide mind and body into a state of deep relaxation, awakening sensations, unlocking creativity, and releasing deep-seated emotions, overall encouraging the body to let go of old patterns and tensions and promoting well-being.
Instead of traditional towels, the body is covered with light and soft sarongs in combination with disposable underwear and bras for comfort, to allow for seamless, continuous strokes along the body's sides and hips. The strokes vary between fast and slow, light and deep, guided by intuition rather than a planned routine, and the coconut oil is gently heated, as well as the room’s temperature, to promote relaxation and make every massage a unique experience.
